Common Reader
Every year a faculty committee selects a book for the campus to read and discuss. This year's selection is The Culture Code: An Ingenious Way to Understand Why People Around the World Live and Buy As They Do by Clotaire Rapaille. All first-year students receive a copy of the book at Orientation and an assignment to read the book over the summer and then bring a written paragraph answering one of two questions to the first class of their First Year Seminar. The First Year Seminar will also require additional writing assignments based on the book and on the campus activities during the 2012-2013 year that will focus on "The Culture Code." Check here often for updates to the campus activities that will enrich your understanding of the concepts and issues related to this year's Common Reader: The Culture Code.
