Paragraph Writing – A First Step Towards Writing Standards

For two years a group of dedicated faculty have been presenting a certificate program for faculty to teach students how to write paragraphs. This is the first step towards better writing. This program has evolved into creating a campus wide writing standard for students. It will be introduced in the Fall of 2011 in the University Experience classes.

This workshop is an introduction to paragraph writing, how it works in all classrooms, and how faculty can use this method to foster better writing for tests, papers, presentations, and full research papers.

Learn how you can introduce the writing standards in your courses and how your department can add additional standards to meet their professional requirements.

Who Should Attend: Faculty interested in learning more about the UTB Writing Standards for Students, Chairs or faculty interested in adding additional standards for their department, Staff teaching the University Experience Classes, and faculty interested in learning how paragraph writing works.
