Student Assistants are expected to assist faculty in teaching, contribute to research projects and help with the maintenance of CIS labs and offices as appropriate. The purpose of these assistantships is to support students financially so that they can focus on their study while at the same time obtain valuable working experience in an academic setting.

The deadline to apply for any sort of financial assistance from the School of Engineering and Computational Sciences for CS and CIS programs (undergraduate and graduate levels) are as follows:

  • Spring Semester - 5pm on the first Monday on or after Oct 1st.
  • Summer Semester - 5pm on the first Monday on or after Feb 1st.
  • Fall Semester - 5pm on the first Monday on or after June 1st.

The application, with all required documents listed, needs to be submitted by 5:00 pm in person at LHSB 2.720 or emailed to rocio.gutierrez@utb.edu in order to be considered.

For those currently working or receiving aid from us, you need only email your intention to continue with us, another application is not required.
