Assistant/Associate Professor of Mathematics Statistics (Multiple Positions)

Reports to: Chairperson of Mathematics Department
Scope:The Department of Mathematics at UTB/TSC seeks applications for several open tenure-track positions starting in Spring and Fall 2010. Applicants will be considered at both junior and senior levels. All mathematical fields will be considered, but at least one hire will be made in statistics or applied mathematics. The department offers a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mathematics. Though the department has a traditional focus on teaching, it is now increasing its strength and breadth in research. This is a security-sensitive position subject to Texas Education Code 51.215 which allows the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
Education/Experience: Ph.D. in Mathematics, mathematical sciences, statistics, computational mathematics, applied mathematics, or mathematical physics required. Candidates should be qualified to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates who show potential to secure external funds and conduct original research.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
