“Novel Method for Analytical Solving of Partial Differential Equations.

Applications to Gas Dynamics and Cosmology”

ABSTRACT

We will discuss the following question: What the airplane breaking sound barrier has in common with wave propagation in an expanding universe? In fact, these two phenomena are connected by partial differential equations which were discovered in the beginning of 20th century, and still remain challenging source for contemporary mathematics. The core of difficulties is the presence of variable coefficients which make it difficult to find explicit formulas for solutions. In this talk we present the new approach for analytical solving of such equations. We give several applications of this method to the equations which arise quite frequently in many areas of applied science and engineering. We focus especially on equations of gas dynamics, fundamental particles physics, and cosmological models of expanding universe.
