Stellar Mass Compact Object Binaries and the New LISA

Dr. Matthew Benacquista will review the current status of the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna and potential modifications to the mission design. All potential mission designs are still sensitive to gravitational radiation from the Galactic population of close white dwarf binaries, and some designs may be more sensitive to extragalactic black hole binaries. I will conclude with a discussion of the prospects for detection of these systems and the science that can be done with a detection.
