The next college colloquium will be a presentation with Zhijun (George) Ojao, Ph. D., Professor of Mathematics,
Graduate Program and GAANN Fellowships Program Director at UTPA, with a lecture titled "Integrable Peakon Equations"
In this talk he will introduce a peaked soliton (peakon) equation, a typical shallow water wave equation, and present
a basic approach how to get peakon solutions. the peakon equation is called the Camassa-Holm(CH), which is actually able to be derived
from the well-known Navier-Stokes alpha model. He will show the background of the CH equation with some integrability properties.
Interesting thing is that an integrable equation may have non-classical solutions. In the talk, he will illustrate this feature through the integrable CH equation.
Later, he will take the CH equation as a typical example to show how the peakon solutions.
