Community Counseling & Growth Clinic
The Clinic's mission is to promote and enhance the quality of life for the members of the community and to provide professional training for graduate students. The Clinic offers growth-enhancing experiences, as well as preventive and early treatment for developmental, emotional, and interpersonal difficulties. The Clinic also makes appropriate referrals when necessary.
Who is my counselor?
Counselors are graduate students at UTB. These students have training in counseling theory, methods, human growth and development, and psycho-educational assessment. All counselors are in the last phase of their education and training at UTB.
How long is my session?
A session is 45 to 50 minutes.
How much is the cost?
Individual counseling is free for 12 sessions. A sliding scale will apply after 12 sessions. Group counseling is free for the first group experience. A sliding scale will apply after the first group session.
All information and records will be kept confidential, and will be held in accordance with state laws regarding the confidentiality of such records and information. However, records and/or information will be released regardless of consent under the following circumstances:
- In cases of physical and/or sexual abuse or neglect of minors or the elderly;
- In cases in which there exists a danger to self or others to the appropriate agency;
- In the event that a client is in need of emergency services;
- In the event that our records may be subpoenaed by the court.
