Volunteer Mentorship Program

Volunteers

The Mission of the School of Business Volunteer Mentorship Program is to enhance the educational experience of the students. To accomplish our mission, volunteer student mentors are selected to assist those students who are pursuing the A.A. and B.B.A. by providing general information that is already available concerning college policies, programs of study, and other pertinent academic information. This program may serve to ease the process of adjustment to college and familiarize students with college policies, as well as career paths and opportunities. Moreover, the volunteer student mentors organize and coordinate events in conjunction with the Department of Career Services that network the students with local business professionals. Through this program, student mentors have the opportunity to develop leadership skills that will be an invaluable asset to complement their academic knowledge, thus increasing their professional marketability in the field of business.

This program is founded upon the core values of integrity, learning, leadership, responsibility, collegiality, and ethics. Our purpose is to make a positive impact in the School of Business by leaving a legacy of volunteerism and community service in which students and alumni are involved. Furthermore, it is a priority to provide an outstanding learning experience for the student mentors in which they can attain leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills that will enhance their professional development.
