Typically, the day begins for UTB students with a morning class held in the Keller (basement dining area) of the hotel. In class they will learn about one of Vienna’s great composers, the music he wrote while in Vienna, and the composer’s relationship with the city. After lunch, the students will then tour a building of significance to that composer: a residence, a palace in which he worked, or a museum dedicated to the composer. In the evening, students will have the option to attend concerts, perhaps featuring music of the composer they have been studying all day. Because the UTB group travels to Vienna during the Vienna Festival, there are many different concerts and opera performances each evening to choose from.
