Biography:

Juan Antonio González, born in Mexico in 1950, is a poet, fiction writer and literary critic. His works, spanning several decades, have been published in many American and European literary journals. He currently serves as Professor of Modern Languages, Creative Writing and Translation at the University of Texas at Brownsville. He is Editor in Chief of the creative writing journal El Novosantanderino and the student literary journal De Puño y Letra. He serves in the editorial board of the journals Puentes of Arizona State University, and Pegaso of the University of Oklahoma.

He has published the poetry book Itineransias (2005), and a second version (corrected and augmented) was published in 2008.

Bio
Profesor Juan Gonzalez
(1950, México) se dice miembro de la confraternidad universal de los poetas, aunque también escribe cuento y ensayo crítico literario. La docencia le ubica como Profesor Asociado del Departamento de Letras Hispánicas de la Universidad de Texas en Brownsville. Funge, asimismo, como editor del anuario literario El Novosantanderino y de la revista estudiantil de creatividad literaria De Puño y Letra. Su obra inicial aparece en su poemario Itineransias. Con la idea de divulgar su creación, también se le ha brindado espacio a su obra en publicaciones de diversos países.

Intereses:

En los últimos años, el interés de colaborar con la manutención de nuestro legado literario fronterizo me ha llevado a dedicar tiempo y esfuerzo a la creación literaria.

La promoción de las letras fronterizas desde las revistas literarias Novosantanderino y De Puño y Letra tienen como propósito delimitar el corpus literario de nuestro entorno geográfico para promover su desarrollo y su preservación. Publicaciones en diversidad de foros dan a conocer nuestra contribución a las letras desde las modalidades de poesía y cuento. La participación en congresos regionales e internacionales coadyuva a forjar nuestra identidad particular a través de la palabra.
