Yong-Kang Wei holds a Ph.D. degree in English, specializing in rhetoric and professional communication. He has been teaching business and technical communication at both undergraduate and graduate levels as assistant professor. His research interests cover a broad range of areas related to rhetoric and professional communication, including rhetorical theory, non-Western rhetoric’s (mainly Chinese), intercultural communication, and technical and business communication. In particular, he is interested in comparing western rhetorical theories and texts with Chinese, with the hope of making scholarly contributions to the field of comparative rhetoric that have yet to be fully explored. Collective ethos is the central theme of his research and scholarship, which explores the question of how to present an individual's micro self in the macro context of culture and community.
