Spring Semester, Freshman Year
- RADR 1411 Basic Radiographic Procedures (4 credit hours).
This course includes an introduction to radiographic position terminology, the proper manipulation of equipment, positioning and alignment of the anatomical structure and equipment, and evaluation of images for proper demonstration of basic anatomy and related pathology.
Prerequisite: Admission to the program.
- RADR 1201 Introduction to Radiologic Technology (2 credit hours).
This course includes the historical development of radiography, basic radiation protection, an introduction to medical terminology, ethical and legal issues for health care professionals, and an orientation to the program and the health care system.
Prerequisite: Admission to the program.
- RADR 1213 Principles of Radiographic Imaging I (2 credit hours)
This course will analyze radiographic image qualities and the effects of exposure variables upon these qualities.
Prerequisite: Admission to the program.
- ENGL 1301 Composition I (3 credit hours).
Expository writing with emphasis on thinking and composing skills required to write full length essays on topics of personal experience, current issues, and material in published essays. Students will practice some research skills and produce a documented paper employing intext citations.
Prerequisites: A grade of A in ENGL 0320. a grade A, B, or C in ENGL 0321, or placement based on assessment scores.
- MATH 1314 College Algebra (3 credit hours)
A course covering linear and quadratic equations, quadratic and nonlinear functions and relations, systems of equations and inequalities, theory of equations, determinants and matrices, logarithmic functions, the binomial theorem, permutations, combinations, progressions, mathematical induction, and other college algebra topics as time permits. Prerequisite: MATH 0322 with a minimum grade of "C" or equivalent as determined by the mathematics assessment test.

- RADR 2305 Principles of Radiographic Imaging II (3 credit hours).
A continuation of the study of radiographic imaging technique formulation, image quality assurance, and the synthesis of all variables in image production.
Prerequisite: RADR 1167 with "C" or better.
- RADR 2309 Radiographic Imaging Equipment (3 credit hours).
A study of the equipment and physics of x-ray production, basic x-ray circuits, and relate equipment components to the imaging process.
Prerequisite: RADR 1167 with "C" or better.
- RADR 2217 Radiographic Pathology (2 credit hours).
An overview of the disease process and common diseases and their appearance on medical images.
Prerequisite: RADR 1167 with grade "C" or better.
- RADR 1267 Practicum III (2 credit hours).
Practical general training and experiences in the workplace. The college, with the employer, develops and documents an individualized plan for the student. - SPCH 1315 Fundamentals of Speech (3 hours).
Designed to study communication barriers between individuals based on cultural, physical, and psychological differences. Emphasis will be placed on improving one-to-one communication and small group interaction.

- RADR 2331 Advanced Radiographic Procedures (3 credit hours).
An advanced course including the proper manipulation of equipment, positioning and alignment of the anatomical structure and equipment, and evaluation of images for proper demonstration of advanced anatomy and related pathology.
Prerequisite: RADR 2305, 2309, 2217, 1267 with "C" or better.
- RADR 2313 Radiation Biology and Protection (3 credit hours).
A study of the effects of radiation exposure on biological systems, typical medical exposure levels, methods for measuring and monitoring radiation, and methods for protecting personnel and patients from excessive exposure.
Prerequisite: RADR 2305, 2309, 2217, 1267 with "C" or better.
- RADR 2266 Practicum IV (2 credit hours).

- COSC 1305 Computer Literacy (3 credit hours).
A computer literacy course open to all students. Provides general knowledge about computers, the skills to use the computer as a problem-solving tool, and the awareness of their effects on society. Topics include: history, terminology, packaged software applications, ethics, and elementary programming concepts.
