Law School Preparation

Students interested in pursuing a career as an attorney can join the Pre-Law Club at UTB/TSC and enroll in the Filemon B. Vela Pre-Law Academy (ALAW 4368). The academy helps current students or UTB/TSC graduates to improve their law school admission chances and law school success. The course focuses on test taking techniques for the LSAT, law school teaching methods and an introduction to the Cameron County legal community.

Our successful graduates of the Filemon B. Vela Pre-Law Academy attend  prestigious law schools as Northwestern University Law School (Sandra Vera ’09) and The University of Texas at Austin Law School (Jason Rios ’10 and Layla Garcia ’10).
