Students can use a variety of inventories to explore personal interest and career options. The "Choices" inventory is available to UTB students via the internet, at the Career Counseling lab, in the Student Success Center, at any other computer lab on campus or in the convenience of their home. Once the inventory is completed, students should, print it and make an appointment to meet with a career counselor to review the results of this program.
The Choices® Planner provides the opportunity to compare, connect and choose career and education options found in the world of Work and to build a portfolio. All work is securely stored.
Note: The UTB student ID number will be required to generate a portfolio name and password; it is recommended to use the same log-in information used for UTB Online.
New users, must complete the “Interest Profile” first to learn about personal interests. These will be matched to careers. The goal of the “Interest Profiler” assessment is to find the area of work, closest to the interests indicated and help to match them both to career options.
The following list indicates the internet sites offering interest inventories free of charge. They are available to the general public and can be used to complement the “choices” program. Students should print them and bring them to the meeting with the career counselors.
