PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY - DECEMBER 28, 2012 - The UTB and TSC "A" and "B" Chess Teams played their third round match-ups at the 2012 Pan American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championships.
The UTB and TSC "A" Team lost a hard-fought match against Webster University "A" Team, 2.5 to 1.5. Webster "A" Team is the top-rated team in the tournament.
Axel Bachmann won his game, Katerina Nemcova drew her game, and Mauricio Flores and Max Cornejo lost their games.
"A" Team has 2 points.
"A" Team will face the University of Maryland College Park "A" Team in Round 4.
The UTB and TSC "B" Team won their match against by the Washington University "B" Team, 2.5 to 1.5.
Aura Salazar and Daniela De la Parra won their games, Armando Cortez drew his game, and Luciana Morales lost her game.
"B" Team now has 2 points.
"B" Team will face Princeton "A" tomorrow morning in Round 4.
Rounds 4 and 5 will take place Saturday, Dec. 29 at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., respectively
The Top Four Finishers in this tournament will qualify for the 2012 President's Cup, known as the Final Four of College Chess, to be held in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Herndon, Va.
