PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY - DECEMBER 28, 2012 - The UTB and TSC "A" and "B" Chess Teams played their second round match-ups at the 2012 Pan American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championships.
The UTB and TSC "A" Team defeated Harvard 3.5-0.5
Mauricio Flores, Axel Bachmann, Max Cornejo all won their games, and Katerina Nemcova drew.
"A" Team now has 2 points.
"A" Team will face Webster University in Round 3.
The UTB and TSC "B" Team were defeated by Texas Tech's "A" Team 4-0.
Luciana Morales, Jeffrey Serna, Armando Cortez, and Aura Salazar lost their games.
"B" Team has 1 point.
"B" Team will face Washington University's "B" Team in the next round.
Round 3 will take place Friday, Dec. 28 at 5 p.m.
The Top Four Finishers in this tournament will qualify for the 2012 President's Cup, known as the Final Four of College Chess, to be held in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Herndon, Va.
