Bartek Macieja second in 2013 US Masters

The UTB Chess Coach Bartek Macieja shared for the second place in a strong international tournament: 2013 US Masters in Greensboro, NC. He scored 6.5 points in 9 games, defeating 3 grandmasters: Aryam Abreu (Cuba), Alonso Zapata (Colombia) and Alojzije Jankovic (Croatia).

UTB Student Max Cornejo came back home with a valuable draw with the winner of the event grandmaster Rauf Mamedov (Azerbaijan). Max was even very close to win that game, however a more experienced grandmaster managed to escape for a draw. Max was also one move from a win against another grandmaster, Alexander Fishbein (USA), but Caissa was not with him that time.
