We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 15th annual UTB Research Symposium. This exhibit will showcase our research across the disciplines through oral and poster presentations. This is a cross-disciplineary symposium, and presentations are welcome in any of the following areas:

Biological and Health Sciences
Engineering and Technology
Humanities and Social Sciences
Education and Business
Physical and Mathematical Sciences

Students and faculty who have participated in scholarly research at UTB or other academic institutions are invited to present their work. The symposium is an excellent forum for faculty to share their research with the university community. 

Each participant will receive a certificate of participation. A team of faculty and off-campus judges for each category will select the most outstanding student contributions for special recognition. Student participants will be judged on the quality of the work and presentation.

Important dates:

March 4, 2013—Call for presentations open

March 22, 2013—Deadline to submit abstracts

March 26, 2013—Committee review of proposals and decision on participation

April 5, 2013—Research Symposium

Eligible participants:

Students or faculty who have participated in scholarly research at UTB or other academic institutions are invited to present their work.

Application for presentation:

Submit completed application using the form below by March 22, 2013.

Application should include the following:

1. Title of project/presentation
2. Abstract of 300 words or less. The abstract should explain clearly the content and relevance of the proposed contribution.
3. Name of presenter(s)
4. Name of faculty mentor (if applicable).
5. Discipline: Identify the area in which the paper should be placed: biological sciences, health sciences, engineering, technology, humanities, social sciences, physical sciences, mathematical sciences, business, or education.
6. Level: undergraduate student, graduate student, post-doctoral student, faculty, or staff.
7. Presentation Type: oral or poster presentation
8. University affiliation: Enter UTB or other university affiliation.
9. Department
10. Email address
11. Phone number
12. Special presentation needs
13. Funding Source. If this presentation is part of a grant, please identify funding source, grant number, and principal investigator.

All abstracts will be reviewed and acceptance notification will be sent out March 26, 2013.
