High School Students


Army ROTC High School (Three-Year or Four-Year) Scholarships:

This scholarship is for high school seniors (or individuals that will receive their GED) that are planning to enter college as a freshman the fall following their senior year in high school.

The scholarship pays:

Full tuition plus mandatory fees, or may be applied towards room & board.

A $600 per semester book allowance.

A tax-free stipend based on academic status during the academic year ($350 per month for freshmen, $400 per month for sophomores, $450 for juniors, and $500 for seniors).

Important information:

Applications are available on-line at the Cadet Command website.
Deadline for applications is December 1st of your senior year.

Eligibility Criteria:

Be a US Citizen.

Be 17 by October of the semester you are entering college and you must not reach 31 years of age before December 31st of the year you graduate from college and receive your commission.

Have a minimum high school GPA of 2.5.

Be a high school graduate or possess an equivalency certificate by September of the year you will enter college.

Score a minimum of 920 on the SAT or a 19 composite on the ACT, not including the written portion of the test.

Have no moral or personal conviction that will prevent you from:

Bearing arms.

Supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States.

Receive a waiver for any arrest or civil conviction (if applicable).

Although medical qualification is not required to be eligible to receive a scholarship offer, medical qualification is required in order to receive the scholarship benefits.

To receive the scholarship benefits you must also agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on active duty or in a Reserve Component (Army National Guard, or U.S. Army Reserve) upon graduation and receipt of your commission.

College Students


Campus-based Scholarships:

Available for current freshmen (two-year, three-year or four-year scholarships), sophomores and juniors with at least four semesters remaining to graduate (two-year scholarship), and seniors planning to attend graduate school (two-year scholarship).

Scholarships pay:

Full tuition and mandatory fees, or may be applied towards room & board.

A $600 per semester book allowance.

A tax-free stipend based on academic status during the academic year ($350 per month for freshmen, $400 per month for sophomores, $450 for juniors, and $500 for seniors).

Basic Course Scholarships:

Basic Course scholarships are two-year scholarships and require attendance at the Leader’s Training Course the summer between the academic sophomore and junior year. A conditional contract must be signed prior to attending LTC signifying the individual is interested in a career as an Army Officer. The contract will not become binding, however, until the individual returns to school for the junior year and takes an oath from the professor of military science.

Must pass the Basic Physical Fitness Test prior to attending LTC.

Be a U.S. Citizen.

Be at least 17 years of age and must not reach 31 years of age before December 31st of the year you graduate from college and receive your commission.

Living Allowances:

Army ROTC scholarships also provide monthly living allowances for each school year. You can earn certain amounts depending on your level in the Army ROTC curriculum:

1st year, $350 per month.

2nd year, $400 per month.

3rd year, $450 per month.

4th year, $500 per month.

This allowance is also available to all non-scholarship cadets enrolled in the Army ROTC Advanced Course (3rd and 4th year).

Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty

The GRFD and Dedicated ARNG Scholarships are two-year scholarships available for members of the Army Reserve and Army National Guard who desire a commission in the Reserve Forces. Applicants must be members of the AR or ARNG and participate in the Simultaneous Membership Program as a cadet. Both scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. Students apply for this scholarship during the spring semester of their sophomore year. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a sophomore with four to five semesters remaining until graduation.
