Final Meeting of the 21st Century University Commission
This week, we will hold the final meeting of the 21st Century University Commission. Over the last month, more than 250 people have engaged in lively discussions to help us envision the future for UT Brownsville as an innovative university of the 21st century – one that will help to transform our region into the vibrant and dynamic community that capitalizes fully on our most valuable resource: our human capital. We have had the privilege of receiving input from Rio Grande Valley mayors, superintendents, community members, alumni, parents and the very active campus community.
On Oct. 17, we will gather to review the results of these discussions. Our seven campus workgroups, six on-site locations and the online community have submitted their recommendations for the commission's report. Please join us at 6 p.m. in Salón Cassia for the last session as we share the full spectrum of ideas and dreams that will comprise the DNA for the vision for UT Brownsville as a 21st century university.
