What programs of study are available at UTB/TSC?

UTB/TSC is a unique institution that combines the strengths of a community college and the strengths of a university.  As a student, you can choose to pursue a certificate, associate's, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree.  Programs of study are offered  in six different areas through our College of Liberal Arts, College of Science, Mathematics, and Technology, College of Applied Technology and General Studies, School of Business, School of Education, and School of Health Sciences. 

What Financial Assistance programs are available to help pay my educational costs?

Programs that are available to help students pay for their cost of attendance include grants, scholarships, loans, work-study and veteran’s programs.  The funds for these programs are provided by federal and state governments, private entities, and UTB/TSC. For more information regarding these programs, please contact the Financial Assistance Office located in Tandy Hall 206 at (956) 882-8277.

What is the Texas Success Initiative?

The Texas Success Initiative is designed to assess the college-readiness of incoming students in the areas of reading, writing, and mathematics. All students must comply with the Texas Success Initiative requirements by taking a state approved assessment such as the COMPASS or THEA before they can enroll in college level courses.  Some exemptions and waivers may apply.

Does UTB/TSC offer campus housing?

Campus housing is available at UTB/TSC Village at Fort Brown.  Student housing plays a very special role in the education and development of students. The Village at Fort Brown strives to be more than just a place where students eat and sleep while attending UTB/TSC.  Our housing department provides opportunities for students to experience a sense of community with shared commitment and social responsibility.  

What is my username and password for Scorpion Online?

Your username consists of the first letter of your first name and the first letter of your last name in capitalized letters, followed by your seven digit school identification number. If you are logging onto Scorpion Online for the first time, your password will be your four digit pin number which is issued to you by the Admissions Office. Once you have logged on, you will be prompted to create a new password six to nine characters in length including both numbers and letters. Students can retrieve or reset their passwords by clicking on the "what's my password?" link located at the bottom of the Scorpion Online Main Menu. If further assistance is needed, students may:

How can I visit with an academic advisor?

Students may contact the Academic Advising Center located at the Lightner Center at (956) 882-7362 to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor. Office hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Students can also visit with a walk-in academic advisor available Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. at the Go Center/Info Shop in the Tandy Lobby.

What are the important dates to remember such as registration dates, payment deadlines, deadlines to withdraw with a "W", and final exam schedules etc..?

When will the course schedules be out?

Typically, one to two weeks before the beginning of a term’s registration cycle.
On-line versions will be available prior to the release of printed versions.

When is the deadline to apply for graduation (undergraduate)?
