The purpose of the Faculty Senate is to provide a forum for elected representatives of the faculty and academic professional staff, such as librarians, counselors and adult continuing education instructors, hereafter called Senators and appointed administrators to meet, discuss and make recommendations on matters pertaining to the University of Texas at Brownsville and the furture University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
The Faculty Senate offers this site as a resource to the UTB faculty and academic professional staff. Use this site to become informed about issues of importance to higher education and to communicate your concerns to your elected representatives. Under Members you will find a list of the officers and Senators with links to their email addresses. Contact these elected officials and express your concerns.
Review the agenda for the next meeting or previous meetings under Agenda. Use the Minutes button to access the minutes of the Faculty Senate meetings. Under Resolutions you can review the resolutions passed by the Faculty Senate. The Calendar button will take you to a list of meeting dates for both the Senate Officers' Meetings as well as the General Faculty Senate Meetings. Use the Committees button to review the charge, see the membership and contact the chairs of Faculty Senate, Standing University, Technical and Special/Adhoc Committees. Under Reports you will find links to information published by UT System, UTB and the Faculty Senate.
