The Laboratory Safety program is designed to promote a safe and healthy laboratory environment and encourage good working practices for staff, researchers, students and visitors. The program addresses chemical, biological, radiation, and general safety issues relevant to research and instructional laboratories. With this program, the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Department ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and federal and state regulations by providing appropriate safety trainings to faculty, staff and students and by conducting scheduled and unannounced laboratory safety audits.
