BUILDING SAFETY

The Building Safety program is comprised of construction safety, indoor air quality and asbestos awareness. The program’s goal is to reduce or eliminate construction-related injury and employee exposure to potentially hazardous air quality conditions. EH&S works to ensure that any indoor atmosphere is environmentally safe for faculty, staff and students. EH&S monitors and inspects all pertinent areas of building safety including, but not limited to, construction, indoor air quality, presence of asbestos, and accepted standards of sanitation for buildings and grounds.

EH&S provides recommendations on applicable safety codes and practices as it relates to construction and modification of buildings. Training is available to applicable personnel concerning the sustainment of building safety.
