Tropical Storm Don - Alert #1

Stay informed and keep an eye on Tropical Storm Don

Tropical Storm Don has begun to develop in the Gulf of Mexico. As of 1 p.m. Thursday, the storm was 430 miles east-southeast of Brownsville moving west-northwest at 14 mph. The maximum wind was 40 mph.

Tropical Storm Don is projected to move toward the Corpus Christi area and make landfall about midnight Friday.

Based on this forecast, we do not expect any disruption of our academic, research or business operations.

You can never predict what a tropical storm will do so it is important to continue to listen to weather reports.

We will continue to monitor the movement of Tropical Storm Don and will keep you informed of any changes.
