Stay informed and keep an eye on Tropical Storm Dolly
July 21, 2008 - 1:58 p.m.
Tropical Storm Dolly is now in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and a Hurricane watch has been issued from Brownsville to the Port O’Connor.
Dolly is moving west-northwest at 18 mph and is projected to reach hurricane status Tuesday, July 22 and make landfall late Wednesday, July 23 or early Thursday, July 24.
Employees should start to prepare their areas as per their office, department and university hurricane plan.
The university’s Emergency Response Team also met this morning and will meet again at 4:30 p.m. An update will be sent to employees following the meeting.
You can never predict what a tropical storm will do so it is important to continue to listen to weather reports and watch for additional updates from the UTB/TSC Hurricane Team and the UTB/TSC Hurricane Plan/Alert Page (http://www.utb.edu/ba/hurricane).
