Guard
Position Number: P/T – 11/2013
Department: Campus Police
Scope: To provide service and information to students, employees, and visitors; enforce the rules and regulations of an institution of The University of Texas System pertaining to the operations and parking of vehicles on University property; and help safeguard property of an institution of The University of Texas system. Responsible for organization and coordination of duties assigned to Guard Division as delegated by supervisor. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
Duties: Responsible for building security through patrol and observation techniques, prevention of crime, alert to all specific safety hazards, monitor alarm systems and exercise good judgment and initiative.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Past experience as a Security is preferred. Also preferred is knowledge and skill in operation of radio communications equipment, computerized security alarm systems, and CCTV monitors. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Department: Student Support Services Program/A Support Program in Reading Excellence (SSSP/ASPIRE)

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student/3.0 cumulative GPA/”B” or better in subjects of expertise.

Online Math Tutor – Learning Enrichment (8 Positions)

Department: Learning Enrichment
Scope: Provide online tutoring in course content area, maintain current and accurate records of participant, commit to and maintain scheduled tutoring hours. Maintain regular contact with supervisor and attend staff meetings as needed. Tutor students in College Algebra. Education: Bachelor of Science in Mathematics is required. Master of Science in Mathematics is preferred.

PPOHA Grant Coordinator
Position Number: P/T – 06/2013
Department: Computer and Information Sciences
Duties & Responsibilities: The grant coordinator will assist Project Director/co-Project Director’s in activity coordination, data collection, reporting as well as other appropriate tasks in order to ensure the effectiveness and productivity of the PPOHA project at UTB. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. This position is contingent upon funding. Specific responsibilities if the grant coordinator will include:
- Data collecting and reporting. This involves substantial amounts of phone calls and emails on a daily basis to request data from various sources, writing reports on student data regularly for the grant Project Director/co-Projects Director’s and presenting the reports at the project meetings. The grant coordinator will also assist the Project Director in preparing aggregated project data for annual reports and evaluation.
- Coordination of activities. This includes but is not limited to:
- Keeping track of status of all online courses developed or to be developed with grant support and coordinating evaluation of the courses
- Scheduling and coordinating Invited Speaker Series and research workshops for graduate students and faculty.
- Scheduling and coordinating high-school visits
- Administrating surveys for all activities and producing summaries of the surveys
Education Requirement: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in English or Business Administration.
Qualifications and Skills: A minimum of one year experience of program/grant coordination, and data entry and reporting is required. The grant coordinator must have effective oral and written communication skills, excellent coordination and problem-solving skills, knowledge of statistical analysis, and the ability to meet aggressive deadlines in a team environment. He/she should also be able to operate an office computer and a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing and other necessary software applications.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and in accordance with UTB Pay Plan.
