WEB COMMUNICATIONS

UTB/TSC's Home page

The purpose of the Web Communications group is to support the goals of the university and to assist faculty, staff and students in using this medium successfully to reach out to the surrounding community. The Internet is ubiquitous and ever changing. The challenge with any technology and forum is using it effectively and consistently to achieve the desired results (that may vary for each group that uses it).

The Web Communications group's responsibilities are:

  • Management and design of top level pages, key sites and special projects on UTB.edu
  • Governance as it relates to creation and enforcement of overall web guidelines and policies for UTB
  • Consulting and training for UTB staff on web best practices and SharePoint skills
  • Accessibility compliance, monitoring and testing for alignment with ADA 508, TAC 206, TAC 213 standards. In other words, making sure that UTB's web site is accessible for all
  • Home page Web analytics and reporting
  • Web design and usability
  • Facilitating the use of social media and other types of technologies as these become available, to leverage the use and value of UTB.edu for all audiences
