Goals

The Department of  Teaching Learning, and Innovation holds the following goals in regard and affirmation of the goals of the College of Education.

The programs of the Department of Teaching Learning, and Innovation

  • Will develop the ability to demonstrate communicative competence in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing, preferably in their first and second language. (COE 1.3)

  • Will develop syllabi that contain uniform objectives. (COE 1.4, 2.3)

  • Will establish a culture of scholarship surrounding bilingualism and second language teaching. (COE 1.1, 1.3)

  • Will improve recruitment efforts for all program areas (COE 2.1)

  • Will seek opportunities to support student academic and research capacity. (COE 1.2, 1.3, 2.2)

  • Will develop and establish a comprehensive use of technology resources that explore electronic assessment and participation in venues opened through use of the Internet. (COE 1.3, 1.4)

  • Will develop significant collaborations with area K-12 schools through a variety of venues, including technology. (COE 3.1, 3.2)

  • Will submit proposals that establish K-16 collaborations with area school districts and other community entities. (4.1)

  • Will serve as resources for educational research for school improvement. (COE 1.1)
