BRAVO OPERA COMPANY

Directors: Dr. Daniel Hunter-Holly & Dr. Nicole Asel

Founded in 1996, the Bravo Opera Company offers singers the opportunity to perform fully staged operas and opera scenes.  Recent productions include: Lehar’s, The Merry Widow, Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Gondoliers, Offenbach’s La Perichole, and scenes from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni, and La Clememnza di Tito.  Additionally, every October, the Bravo Opera Company performs a production of Humperdink’s Hansel and Gretel for local elementary school children; over the years, this outreach production has introduced opera to thousands of schoolchildren from throughout the Rio Grande Valley.  Students enrolled in Bravo Opera learn first-hand about opera production, stage direction, set design, and costuming.
