Welcome to student Health Services
Student Health Services is part of the Division of Student Affairs. Our mission of Student Health Services is to provide students with an integrated, interdisciplinary student-centered health care approach that requires the collaboration of the faculty and staff from other departments, as well as the involvement of our student organizations and agencies within the larger community.
Our philosophy of care is based on the seven dimensions of wellness: emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual, social, environmental and occupational. This philosophical construct guide us in helping our students with the challenges they face while pursuing their academic goals, hence supporting the overall university’s retention efforts.
Tantamount to our service mission is our academic responsibility. Collaboration with other university academic departments and faculty is a very important part our mission, such as: the provision of internship opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students; assisting faculty with relevant research programs; and, the implementation of a curriculum immersion program for students focusing on health education and promotion.
We strive to develop a culture of health and wellness in the campus community.Through the practice of professional and ethical care, quality interventions, and programming, we promote wellness lifestyles in an environment that supports learning, self-care, and the development of future citizen leaders.
