The Fire and Life Safety program is designed to promote fire safety awareness specific to fire prevention and suppression, along with emergency evacuation procedures, for all academic, administrative and residential buildings across campus. University policies and procedures are established using the National Fire Protection Association’s Life Safety 101® codes, the State Fire Marshal’s Office requirements, Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations, and American with Disabilities Act guidelines. EH&S ensures program compliance by conducting building audits, sprinkler system/fire alarm/fire extinguisher inspections, campus fire drills, and providing fire safety trainings to faculty, staff and students.
