The mission of UTB/TSC’s Division of Research is to expand and support the university's research programs by promoting the scholarly, creative and collaborative research activities of faculty, staff and students. The Division encourages national and international partnerships for development of trained research professionals and commercialization of research endeavors. The Division enhances the research infrastructure of the university to support our South Texas community in an ever-changing, no-boundaries world while providing a research environment for timely production of graduate degrees through an educational experience of national and international excellence.

The UTB/TSC Division of Research provides the oversight, expertise and guidance for all research activities throughout the university. The Division of Research includes the Office of the Vice President of Research, the Office of Sponsored Programs, Development Research Associates, Research Integrity and Compliance, and South Texas Technology Management in partnership with three other University of Texas System institutions – The University of Texas San Antonio, The University of Texas Pan American and The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.
